Team Tuesday – Mark

Next week we will be switching to Film Friday so, for the last Team Tuesday, I thought I would tell you a little about myself. My Dad bought a boat in the 60’s. It was a 40 hp aluminum boat. Some of my best memories with him are when we would sneak out and go do some water skiing. Just he and I. He pulled me for what seemed like forever, and sometimes he would grab the handle and take a turn.

After some years the boat became mine, but 40 hp was not enough. So I traded up, and traded up again. Some of the best times with my kids came in the old Dyne, and man we have some stories. My 310 hp inboard lasted many years and is still in the family, but after pulling the ski pylon out twice, I decide it was time to get a real “tow” boat. Now I own a twin rig. It’s built to pull anything our club can put behind it.

I still get out of the drivers seat occasionally and really enjoy a good barefoot run when the water is perfect. I’ve been blessed to ski with and pull some really great skiers. But those are not the moments I cherish the most. It’s the little kid on the boom, who gets up on two skis and the fear is replaced by the huge big smile. Those are the moments, I love. The feeling I get when I pull a disabled skier for their first ever run. Sometimes, they are hooping and hollering so loud, I can hear it in the boat.

I hope you will join us next week for Film Friday, Thad and Taz will show you how to “Blow the water away”. Thank you fans for supporting us. Mark
