NSSA Driver Training – Day 2

August 6, 2023 @ 8:00 am - 2:30 pm

The Pomona Lake Ski Club will be hosting NSSA driver training on August 5 and 6th. Chris Hammer from Sioux Falls, SD will be coming to test drivers for an A ( single engine) or B (twin engine) rating. We have invited drivers and skiers from other local show teams (Lake Lotawanna and Lake Winnebago) to come and participate. We will need a lot of skiers as between our clubs we have many drivers to test.
A driver must be able to:
Pull a 3 high pyramid
Pull a strap doubles couple
Pull a jumper over the jump
Drive a 2 boat pattern

The following skiers are needed.

Skiers:
✓ Class A Driver Evaluations – 10 Skiers (minimum 5 males and 5 females)
✓ Class B Driver Evaluations – 14 Skiers (minimum 7 males and 7 females)
✓ Class C Driver Evaluations – 18 Skiers (minimum 9 males and 9 females)
• Recommended Skier Skill Requirements:
Males
✓ All male skiers must be able to perform a hop dock start
✓ All male skiers must be able to perform a shoulder dock start and carry a 3-high pyramid
✓ One to two male skier(s) for a strap doubles couple (must have familiarity and prior skiing experience
with partner)
Females
✓ All female skiers must be able to perform a braced ballet hop dock start
✓ All female skiers must be able to climb to a second tier pyramid position and four of the five women
must be able to hold a third tier individual
✓ One to three female skier(s) able to climb to a third tier pyramid position
✓ One to two female skier(s) for a strap doubles couple (must have familiarity and prior skiing experience
with partner)
Other
✓ One jumper to perform a two-ski ride over
✓ Any mix of skiers who can do the above will also be acceptable
